Kung
Fu Fundamentals
Kung
Fu Fundamentals covers all of the basics and more. For roughly
ninety percent of the class you are partnered up with other students
so you can learn timing, feeling, angles, and correct movement.
This class uses a rotating partner system so you become proficient at
working with all types of people of all skill levels.
The
class is divided into three sections:
-
Horse
work, which includes the basic stance and foot work. Without a
proper horse your kung fu will be weak and ineffective against a
trained fighter.

Kicks,
counter kicks, sweeps, and blocking with your legs. Learn to move
with precision, balance and power.

Hand
techniques, which includes different types of fists, punches,
counter punches, blocks, joint manipulation, and much more. These
techniques will enable you to control opponents at close range.
Kung
Fu System
Kung
Fu System is where it all comes together. Once you have met the
criteria of Kung Fu Fundamentals you may attend this class. The
foot work and hands are now used simultaneously. You will be
refining and breaking everything down in this class. This class uses
a rotating partner system so you become proficient at working with
all types of people of all skill levels.
This
class is divided into three sections.

Simultaneously
using horse work and hand techniques.
-
Combination
drills and real life attack scenarios.
-
Two
person forms and their break downs for a complete understanding of
each technique’s application.
Apache
Control
This class is
based on the teachings of a Lipan Apache Scout/Shaman. The exercises
compliment and immensely accelerate your learning and understanding
of kung fu. Using exercises based on Scout/Shaman philosophy and the
art of stalking, develop higher levels of awareness, muscle memory,
complete body control, and self healing techniques.
Please bring
an open mind and a yoga or exercise mat for this class.
Open
gym
You
are free to train with any of the various pieces of equipment
throughout the gym. You may practice kung fu by yourself or with
another student and ask any questions you may have. During open gym
there is a guided warm up and stretch routine offered as well. It
is open gym, do as you wish!
Equipment
list: Heavy bag, kime bag, speed bag, palm bag, vertical double
ended bag, horizontal double ended bag, mok jung, baoding balls,
dumbbells, iron rings, sashes, staffs, jump ropes, horizontal bench,
decline sit up bench, back extension bench, pull up and dip station,
and the list goes on!

REQUIRED TO ATTEND ONE KUNG FU FUNDAMENTALS CLASS.
