Recently Sifu Joe McSorley came to visit us with five of his students in order to further their skills. Joe had originally started his training in Philadelphia in 1972 with Master Mark, and continues to practice and teach. During the visit, the group worked hard to refine their skills, focusing primarily on feeling and timing exercises. Back in Philadelphia, Joe and his students train with greater emphasis on practical application of techniques, so it was a good chance to compare perspectives.

Regarding the practicality of this style, John, a student and instructor under Sifu McSorley stated: "There's alot of good fighters in Philly, so you can't fake it."

As always, it was an inspiration to see people that train hard and strive to uphold the integrity of this great tradition. We look forward to more visits and seminars with Joe and his students in the future.

	It was a pleasure meeting our family at the Minnesota branch and finally getting to meet and receive instruction from Gin Foon Mark Sifu. Everyone was very helpful--reunions like these ensure the future of Jook Lum as relationships are developed and a trading of ideas and skills strengthen us practitioners wherever we may be.
