Visit from Philadelphia Branch |

 Recently Sifu Joe McSorley came to visit us with five of his students in order to further their skills. Joe had originally started his training in Philadelphia in 1972 with Master Mark, and continues to practice and teach. During the visit, the group worked hard to refine their skills, focusing primarily on feeling and timing exercises. Back in Philadelphia, Joe and his students train with greater emphasis on practical application of techniques, so it was a good chance to compare perspectives.
Regarding the practicality of this style, John, a student and instructor under Sifu McSorley stated: "There's alot of good fighters in Philly, so you can't fake it."
As always, it was an inspiration to see people that train hard and strive to uphold the integrity of this great tradition. We look forward to more visits and seminars with Joe and his students in the future.

We've just returned from Rome, and we have a lot of great photos and video to show you. The seminars were exceptional, and as always Master Mark was an inspiration to everyone. We hope to be able to do many other seminars like these in the future, and not just in Rome.

Master Mark will be doing a seminar in Rome on May 5th and 6th. Several students will accompany him. There will be both Kung Fu and Chi Kung (Qi Gong) sections of the seminar, as well as painting and acupuncture demonstrations. Expected attendance is already in the hundreds. Master Alessandro Cossu has been coming to Minnesota every year for the past 10 years to continue his studies with Master Mark, and we are very excited to be working together with him to promote KSJLPMKF in Italy.

February 18th was Chinese New Year, and we
had our annual celebration at headquarters. The day before, there was
also a celebration/open house in uptown Minneapolis to promote new Kung
Fu and Chi Kung classes at the new location. As many of you already
know, it is the year of the pig. According to Chinese astrology, this
year is a year of challenges, reaffirmations to commitments, and
embracing closure to projects and chapters of life.
